| Happy Wednesday everyone! I am looking for some ideas to "UP" my protein intake. I thought I was doing pretty good with it, but I just recorded my breakfast into Live Strong Daily Plate and saw my fat intake is higher than my protein!! EEK!! On another note I think it might be time for some restaurant proteins too!! Heres why: | Quote: | I was just at work for a 4 day shift and had packed some food with me (as we all do, all of the time!), but I had a little run in with an angry Customs Officer on day 1 of the trip and she took all of my lunch bag food, including the freaking yogurt (FFF)!! ERK...the powers of customs and making their own rules, and me too chicken to argue! Anyways.....that aside I had to eat out the rest of the 4 days. I did okay choosing steaks and salads for dinners, I ate the 'insides' of sandwiches on the plane during the day, some boiled eggs at the continental breakfast, but that was about it.
|
So - now I need some help in upping the protein for regular meals, as well as some thoughts on restaurants!! I am scared to even order chicken wings after reading that most are dusted in flour!!

| Is there something wrong with higher fat? It is generally more calories per ounce, right? Order a steak with grilled veggies. EDIT: Wait, are you on P2? |

| No, on P4 now but still eating P3. Steak and veggies has been my favorite, as well as steak and Caesar salad w/o croutons. But I am thinking I am eating too much read meat. Then I was reading more this morning about everyone's BAB's and then looking at my low protein vs fat ratio and thinking I better come up with a plan to up the #'s! It looked so weak for a breakfast in comparison to the BAB's with 50+ of protein! |

| PaleoCowgirl will tell you there is no such thing as too much red meat! wild-caught salmon on a ceasar... i get that sometimes. chicken / duck... if you don't have omega 6 issues shrimp, scallops, and other seafood pork chops... if you don't have a sensitivity (apparently i do now!) elk? frog legs? escargot swimming in butter and garlic lamb, yummy slow-roasted with rosemary, garlic.... |

| Ha, never too much red meat! And, fat is a great thing!
Christine, you are sensitive to pork chops? How do you know? I think I'm having a major reaction from it...I had a loin last night, and I'm itchy, bloated and puffy. Gained .6 overnight. |

| Nope. I had homemade bone broth, which had sea salt in it, so it could be a spike from the salt, since i usually don't use the stuff. I also had a spoonful of manna in my crack in the morning, which I usually don't do. |

| Yeah.. but it really does seem like a reaction to some food... I think the key word is itchy, well and bloated too. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]LRx since Sept 2011 Currently doing the 21 Day Primal Blueprint Challenge Blog is here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Sad, I bet it's the pork. My joints in my hands ache, too. Hopefully lots of water today flushes out the inflammation. |

what i had that weekend that was different were the pork chops and a bunch of mac nuts... could have been either, or both.... sorry, i don't think thats helpful.
i think sometimes pork is brined...
my jeans fit well though despite my meal at fogo de chao where i had pork, and some cheese, and creamer in my coffee. and i have been having bacon almost every day. go figure!
i have not been weighing myself lately.... |
